Juniors

Boys and girls can begin judo at the age of five.  All students start off as a white belts and progressively advance in rank as indicated by different colored belts.  The ranking system for juniors is as follows: white, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, and brown.  The black belt cannot be earned until the student is at least 15 years of age and has met all of the requirements for black belt ranking. Since each belt requires a significant amount of time stripes will be awarded to students to indicate progress and encourage them to keep training hard.  Belts and Stripes will be awarded according to the chart below.  The instructor reserves the right to withhold promotion even if the time in grade is met if the student does not demonstrate the proper ability or character.
